Shooting with Beckstead

I'm so PUMPED! I just got home from a two day workshop with international wedding photographer David Beckstead. We spent ALL DAY Monday shooting with him and learning how to bring fashion and fashion lighting into our wedding portraits. I think everyone ended up with about 1,000 images. We had to choose our ten favorite and today he offered his critiques on how to improve (what should have been included, what should have been left out, dodging tips, burning tips, etc.) These are tree of the ten I chose a top favorites. I'll post a few more over the coming days. Gotta REST!

HOLY SMOKES These are fantastic. So was it worth the money? Did you learn a ton? Are ya gunna share your new wealth of knowledge? See I would rather do something like this than go to WPPI. I want to learn the craft!

Yes, so worth the money.

Basically, he doesn't go with the rules we all learn (at least, not for the fashion shots). He uses a video light to light the model and hit her with shadows, add detail, etc.

He wants to include as much of the environment and use angles and lines to lead to your subject.

You SO need to do this!
