a quicky session

Her mom came over to deliver some makeup to me. Whallaaaaaa a model to try out a lighting pattern. She is the same young lady that won the best of 2007 contest. Isn't she stunning.

My Niece the Superstar

This is Molly's first year to play softball. I was able to go to her game last night and see her first homerun. Her daddy was beaming!

What a Catch!

He lost his cap running after this one! I don't usually get decent shots of players in left field; even with the 70-200, it's still a long way off. But again, it was a day game and my settings allowed me to get the shot.

Blake's baseball team

Went to Blake's baseball game tonight! I would love to be as good as Meg but I have a long ways to go. But.............. I love the 70-200 VERY MUCH!

My Victorian Afternoon Setup

This weekend I hauled my whole setup to a preschool building and did a "Victorian Afternoon" event. Only 4 famlies partook in the event but that was plenty. I am beat!

Seniors with Style

Guys are channeling Horatio Cane from CSI Miami and Kacey (my oldest ) is channeling Audrey Hepburn. All shot with natural light.

From today

My first model shoot. These are steamy, sexy and it was a blast. New venture for me and I love it!

Here is another from our shoot together. I'd say we did pretty good together. HMMM Mom and Daughter team. :)

I Love Day Games!

So many of our games have been at night lately, and no matter how well-lit these fields are, they're never well-lit enough. This is from our JV game....before the Varsity night game.

Hi everyone

My mom and I did a photo shoot today, I begged my mom if she could let me in on this. After a while I broke her down and she said okay. ;D Here is one of the pictures I took

new member to our group

I've invited my daughter Katie to join our group. She has just started her own photography company. So welcome Katie!!!

Monkey Bars

I took this while at the park yesterday. I decided to just shoot in jpg mode since my RAW mode on my camera isn't working properly and giving me horrid images most of the time. I haven't edited in jpg for some time, it was fun though.

SETTINGS: ISO: 200 SS: 1/500 AP: f/2.8 used peta's pop color action and then adjusted the layers and then created another layer to do a bit more saturation with the sponge tool.

my daughter

I took this tonight while trying to explain off camera flash. :) Still with my mom but I think she is going to get out of the hospital tomorrow and go into a nursing home.

Let me Out...

Gum Wall

For those of you unfamiliar with the gross traditions of California (and apparently from Ruth's neck of the woods also) there is an alley walkway in San Luis Obispo that is covered in chewed gum (eek).... some people even bring ladders 'cause there are used chewing gum pieces as high as 12 ft. on both sides of the walkway. Pretty icky, but a 'must visit' every time we go to the coast!

my storybook banner

Don't know how this will come out. I'm working on a banner for the fair this summer. What do you all think?

I'm here in spirit

My mom got through surgery good. She had to have an incision just like open heart surgery so she is pretty wiped out. Not really conscience but I'm hanging out at the hospital as much as possible and doing all that I can to keep her comfortable. I can't open any RAW images from my laptop so there goes proofing stuff while I'm out here... that really bums me out!

But my mom is doing good and that is what is really important. :)

Daddy's Little Girl

This is a moment I captured at my last wedding (still working on images, as I'm able). I love the look on the bride's face in this one.

I just liked the look of this one :)

from my wedding last week

It looks like I have to go out of town too. My mom is having major surgery on Monday and I won't have a computer. :(

My beautiful Daughter...

... and her best friend!

ISO400, ss400, f5

So long, fairwell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye....

I hate to go and leave this pretty "site"! :) I just love that song!!
I'm not leaving forever but I will be away for a couple weeks as my oldest dd will be having surgery at Omaha's Children's Hospital next week. Life has been so crazy around here I barely have time to get on my computer let alone pick up the camera. I have a couple tiny shoots planned while she is in the hospital if she allows me to leave at all. So hopefully I will have some images to play with once we are home. If you would like to follow her progress I will be posting updates on our family blog http://5monsters.blogspot.com/ . Please keep A.J. in your thoughts and prayers next Wednesday.
so sad that I don't even have a picture to share :(

More from Wedding

I'm having horrible color issues with the cast from these orange tinted paneled walls. I'm glad I shot in RAW. Does this one look too wacked? Any suggestions to work the color?

7 week old

I had a darling little baby tonight. But he didn't want any pictures with out mom. Here is one.

Sorry for the Break

Sorry for the Break. We have been incredibly busy, not doing pictures unfortunately. But we are building a deck, and my computer was slowing down so bad it would take me 20 minutes to process a picture and that was just minor adjustments. But we recieved our new computer and now I feel like I am a a speed demon. Of course I spent the last two and a half weeks reloading everything. But I did have a session this last week. I love how they are turning out. This is one of my favorites so far.

Sat night Cotillion

How I spent my Sat. night. 100 some jr high kids dressed in 50's costume. It was a blast.
Camera settings ISO100 1/125 f/10. Two 400 ab's. Oh and I'm thrilled to say, I get to print them sooc. Awesome!!

First Softball Game

I was shooting thru a fence so I struggled a bit, but I like this shot.
(and it was a force play so she was out :)

April 12 Wedding

Still feeling terrible, but I did process a few of the "getting ready" images today. This is just a shot of the bride right after the got into her dress. So in the spirit of posting...

How can you resist....

No Pic tonight

I shot a wedding today with bronchitis, sinus infection and both ears are infected. I think my right eardrum has ruptured. I'm so glad I'm home now, the images are backed up and I'm going to BED! Prayers are appreciated. I'm miserable.

This is my oldest. He actually posed for me yesterday.

This is Whidbey Island... you can't see the whole thing because of my crop...but you will! :)

e-session

Here's an image from my last session, a very sweet couple whose wedding will be in August at a local vineyard (I can't wait!!).

Camera Shy?

Actually he was dodging the sun, not me:) ...and he's sitting on a bag of ice, hamstring injury.

ISO 400, ss1250, f4.5

Shhhh...

He's not really allowed on the furniture. Another one that's just too darn cute. On camera flash reflected with a white card. (stuck a library card directly behind th flash, doesn't create harsh shadows.) ISO 800, f/5.0, 1/125. This is the only type pic I can get right now with the 75-300.

Missing Toof

This is my youngest. She lost her front tooth earlier in the week. Now she has a lisp. As if she weren't cute enough.

My Niece is Getting Married

Okay, I need to work on "edgy" poses and get some of those great engagement images. I'm so B O R I N G! Here is one of my niece and her fiance'. I'm shooting their wedding at the end of May. I have been playing with textures, though.

my senior tonight

The is Iona. A very shy sweet girl. iso 100 f5.6. I custom white balanced and it was really green. I haven't been happy yet with any custome white balance except for the target when I was in Portland. I may have to break down and get one. Anyone have one?

E-Session

I did engagement images tonight for my May 31 and June 7th brides and grooms. Here is one of my favorites that I've edited.
