Okay, my car shot is my new lettering on my back window. Within a week I had two contacts as a result! Took it a couple of days ago and have just gotten around to posting. Sorry, don't have settings.

MIL new car...

Okay ya its an old pic but I didn't take any pics today. I did the edge blur on it and mochabw

Well while we are talking about CARS.....
here is the famous CAR
Lightning McQueen!
:)

what a learning experience

I just read this thread on ilp. If you aren't a member then I have to ask why???? Anyway...OMG It would be fasinating if we did this for a week of themes. I think we could learn soooooooooooooooooooooo much!!! Even better than the 10 second thingy. Just my two cents.

It will take you a long time to read it but once you do, you will be sucked in. Anyone care to make this a theme for the week?

ok I've lost track of what phase this is... lol

I still have to fix all the white marks but that will be another day!!!

My Uncle Jim's Car Collection

Does this cover me for the week?

My senior from tonight
:)

My first car

...and I don't know what it is, but I bet my kids do! Car spotting became THE game while we were in San Diego, not because of our theme - my kids just have big dreams:)
ISO400, ss400, f10
ps. and you are TOO TOO funny Ruth, I would be happy to select the next themes...one question, what is this list you speak of???

part III

ok here comes the scary part. Putting the white on it. I'll do that and then do some test pictures with Blake.

Part deux of my wall

my brick wall will be done today, because I have a senior tomorrow. Here is the update. After church I will finish painting it, I hope...LOL

car on the Salt Flats

Here is one that I took while I was in Utah. I used an action that shows you what it would look like as a canvas.

Next week's theme

ok ladies...this is the last week of my choice of themes...who's gunna pick the next one? I say Meg!!! Everyone raise your hands if you want Meg to pick the next 8 or so...

waiting
waiting
waiting

ok the votes are tallied and Meg it is. So, Meg pic the next 8 out of our list. Use others if you think of something you want to do. And then Meg you pick the next person. Tesa and Lindy have yet to still put in their contributions so if you pick them, they will have to come up with a whole bunch.

Next week is Automobiles/Trucks all angles and different lights and actions. On your mark, set, go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My post for today...

Here is my post for today, this is an old fort from back home (Nova Scotia) that was used in the war, now full of graffiti but looks pretty kewl still.........see the door?

My favorite colors

These are some more 'found' doors that we hooked together to make a dressing room area next to the pool in the summer.
ISO400, ss400, f7.1

ok where in the heck is everyone????? What should we do ladies? I'm guilty too. Ok I have an excuse, well tons of them. But I'm documenting my one for today. While in Utah I bought (from a scenery company) some brick walls. They are some kind of pressed plastic, hard, and I have to paint them and make them into a wall for my studio. So I'm documenting this. Now I am STANDING IN THE DOORWAY to take these pictures...heheheh

I just thought you would like to see how I made them and then when they are finished I hope they look great for portraits. I'm SO not crafty so we'll see.

Image one is how they looked in the backseat of my car

Image two is the first stage of paint, the stuff in between the bricks.

Now I'll go down and paint it red and then get a sponge and put some white into it. Did I say I'm so NOT crafty?

Going green

ok so I found another great door to use, what do you all think? settings: d70, 50mm iso 1600, f 3.5 1/1250

Blue doors...

...which I would like to say I found on a walk down my alley because they are so freakin dirty; but as embarrassing as it is to admit, they are ours. I must point out tho, they were found doors that we painted and use instead of a back gate (and at least they're a pretty color!).

ISO400, ss640, f5.6

ps......I promise I will be cleaning them soon!

My post for today...

Thought I better post before I head out here, can't wait to go to the concert today I really like Nickelback........they are also from Alberta! Have a great day everyone :P Ok so this doesn't TECHNICALLY have a door but it has a door hole LOL :P Sorry I am in a rush so no settings haha :P OHHHHHHHHH and LINDYLOU if you read this get off your lazy arse and post something........man whats her excuse?? I think you should punish her Ruth! lol

red door

While driving around today we were scouting locations to do senior portraits (braces come off next month). We loved the red door and the yellow columns outside this museum, so I had to get a shot with the DOOR!

Getting desperate?

This is the future doorway looking out to the present kitchen garden from the future boys room/apt. that we are creating out of our old shop which was originally the old garage- are you keeping up here?

iso 400 f1.8 ss500 Ok this was the most boring shot and I have the most boring doors. And I'm too busy to go and find some cool ones so I took this of Danny, trying to re create what Cindy did, but it is too late in the evening and there was not enough light. So......... I mangled it instead. LOL

Door knobs

Here's a door know thats still part of a door. Settings: d70 mf, at 56mm f 4.5, 1/250 iso 1600

Door to the United States

OK, another old one....but I did take this a couple of weeks ago on our San Diego trip in expectation of the upcoming 'door' theme (please don't vote me off the island!).

Silhouette in Door

Okay, not sure where there are cool doors in my area, but I'll be watching for them this week. For now, I thought since the sun was behind the house I'd use the door to practice my silhouette (sp?) technique.

My green door...

...is an old one, but I like it (not as much as I like Jens red door...but oh well).

Doors and door frames

all next week. Kinda sounds boring after the 10 seconds thing but I'm sure we'll find our lost stragglers and have fun. Everyone come home, its time for dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last day for the 10 second post....

...and I couldn't make up my mind!!!

Happy Birthday Sarah

My nieces 8th birthday was yesterday and this was the last piece of cake. I thought I'd see what would happen with just the one candle to light it up. Kinda cool, huh? My brother and family were here visiting before they move to Pennsylvania (from Japan - we hadn't seen them in 3 years - that's why I haven't posted).
And I agree Ruth, this has definitely been a learning experience and I would love to do it again!

Kyle sleeping

iso 400 f22 ss10 seconds. I unpacked my camera cause I can't part with it. I want to do some more testing before I send it in. AND I have a session on Monday so I dont' need to rent a camera now.

My thoughts

ok I've got my camera all packed up to go back to the factory to get adjusted and cleaned. I have no back up camera!!!!!!!! so I'll be out of the loop for a few weeks and I really really really wanted to do this 10 second cause it could be sooooooooo cool! so I think we should do it again later in the year...as well as continue this week. so whoever picks the next set could throw this in again...don't you all think?

You can learn so much by doing the unusual! Those who haven't tried this should cause it is really fun!

Ghost

Once again, f/32, ss 10", ISO 200. To actually record my daughter descending the steps, I had to get her to stop for a couple of seconds and strike a pose before continuing down the steps. 10 seconds is a LONG time for the shutter to be open. BUT I'm learning so much by playing with it.

candle power

iso 200 f22 ss10seconds. In the bathroom. The mirror is fogged cause my son had just taken a shower. This is cool!!!

Me again...

...because I obviously have NO life. Long exposures are new to me so I just tried this little 'still life' with only one lamp on in a fairly dark room and was surprised at how bright it turned out. Gee, maybe I'm actually learning something here!

Another from our window...

and this one was only for 8 seconds (sorry!). I couldn't remember if it was 8 or 10 and didn't have access to the internet so on this night I went with 8. I thought it was cool because of the clouds so I'm going to use it anyway.... (so there!)
ISO 100, ss8.0, f22.
ps. and thanks Ruth, you're a doll!

I'm back

Hi everyone!! I'm finally back from Sacramento. The wedding went well and I'll post some pictures once there is a good category for it. I'll start my 10 seconds tonight. I know it is summer and everyone is really busy but let's not forget our blog!!! Meg is the bomb!!! and the rest of us need to get back on track :) Except Cindy has a very good excuse as I'm sure we all do :)

Summer is tough and so is the 10 second theme!!

Good to be home, I have a senior session tonight, maybe I'll just overexpose her for 10 seconds...LOL

I took this back on the 4th of July but it's a 10 second exposure :) Oh and it's different to my last firework pic!

ISO 100, f/16, ss 10.0

Long exposure

I'm taking a shot (get it) at this here....I found an old schedule for the blog themes and 10-second exposure was the next on the list, so here goes. This was taken from our hotel window in San Diego with a 200mm lens.

It has been awhile? hehe

Okay I have been working extra lately and its summer does that count as a good excuse? :) Here is a pic from last week from our wiener roast at the falls, ran urban acid on it :)
