no post today...but I have a senior in the morning. I do believe I have forgotten how to shoot outdoors..... I must admit I'm a tad nervous...

Treat @ School

SETTINGS: ISO: 1000, AP: f/2.8, SS: 1/90 50mm 1.8 lens and no flash used

This was taken during a school assembly today. What a treat for the kids and for me - I ran home and grabbed my camera (glad I only live 5 min from school). It was soo much fun to watch and photograph.

My boys

I needed some sample shots of my Grandmas Attic set so I bribed my boys. I was shocked at how well they behaved and modeled for me, that never happens! There is more on my blog if you would like to see more of my little "models".

another from my shoot with Tammy

Ahhhhhhhhhhh....

Sam didn't want his picture taken - but I wasn't going to take no for an answer. Enjoy!

SETTINGS: ISO: 500 AP: f/3.3 SS: 1/90 Natural light - it was a beautiful day again - I hope it stays nice all weekend.

sorry so sorry

I have been MIA! But Ruth found me and asked me to come over here, so here I am! Here's a pic from my last session!

85mm 200 iso 1/800 f2.8

I'm sorry

I've been slacking...I'm extremly stressed with volleyball right now and overloaded with photography. Orders are coming in really fast right now because of my price increase on the 1st. I'm drowning.... but for the good news. My new website is up. Not finished but up. For those that haven't seen it...go to

www.photographybyruth.com

I hate computers and we'll leave it at that.

:)

Scrapbooker

I started scrapbooking YEARS ago (like 13 years). I was caught up for a while. Now I'm a year behind. I keep a book going for myself and one for each of the girls (so they can take pictures with them when they leave home). Told you I was anal!

From Newborn Session

SETTINGS: ISO: 250 AP: f/2.0 SS: 1/90 All natural light used no Flash (finally the sun is out and shining bright and gorgeous!!)

This was taken yesterday at my "newborn" session - he's not a newborn but actually 8 weeks old. He was just too precious for words and kept me smiling all day long. Enjoy! Oh and the sun was shining so most of the images I got were all natural light only used my speedlight for a few of the images I took - I LOVE the SUN!!

Crafts

I love to do anything crafty. I sew, smock, tat, stamp cards, scrapbook, etc. As with photography, I'm not very creative on my own, but I copy well. I'm also VERY ANAL, so EVERYTHING in my life has it's place - I'm super organized. This is my closet with my rubber stamping supplies. All the paper is in the bottom and each basket has a "theme" for sets of stamps...you get the picture.

Wife and Mother

Here are two representations of "who I am." I happened to have my camera on hand when my youngest ran to hug Phil as he came home from work. Room was dark, so I had the flash on and set to drag the shutter. ISO 200, SS 1/40, f 3.2

A Day Late

Sorry I was traveling to Grandparents houses this weekend, so I couldn't get this on the web before the next challenge was up. Here is my Traffic picture. As you can see we did lots of "Traveling" this weekend. This is on F 5.6, SS Bulb held until the Semi-Truck on the left passed, Iso 100. Camera was sitting on our dashboard.

Remodel progress...

Cindy asked to see the remodel, so here is what I have so far. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have it all painted, the molding and wainscoting up and I'll post again. The desk and other furniture isn't here yet and the chair is in the progress of being redone (that's what you see in the right hand corner). Dh and I are having a disagreement on what to do with the floor. I want to paint it dark brown he thinks I should leave it the way it is. When we redo the entry next year we will be putting in new hardwood so it won't hurt it to be painted. What do you think?
And then a funny shot of child labor at it's best!

Objects that tell something about you

This is our challenge for this week. We are slacking off on the challenges, but I think this one will be great, IF we ALL play! So, let's do it!

New Busines card

I'm getting ready to order new business cards. Here is what I'm working on. Any input? Tips Suggestions?

Lunar Eclipse

We were lucky enough not to have too much cloud cover. The first picture is of the eclipse itself. The next one is the Triangle of Saturn, Regulus, and the moon with a plane landing at DIA flying through the center, I thought it turned out really cool. My shots were iso 200, ss 5 sec, f 5.6 at 135 mm.

Where do you want to go?

ISO 100, ss1000, f 4.5

Ok, not much to look at but I was waiting for my son to get out of class....his car needed a jump...and I had my camera. The sky was nice and blue, that's always a plus!

Nikon CLS

Okay, since I was second shooter I got to play with the Nikon CLS system. This is my favorite from the "playtime."

A sign, but not Traffic

Here is another one from my session with my kids, this is my DS. He is only 3 but he looks much older in this.

My Sign

Hi everybody... sorry I haven't posted in awhile...life happens!

Wedding Pics

This is a collage of the bride from this weekend. I went to help a friend shoot and she asked me to get images of the bride spinning.

Miss D

I will have a lot of favorites but here is one. :) Hi Key back 11 front 8 ss125 with my light meter on 100

From a Mat Session

SETTINGS: ISO 640 AP: f/3.8 SS: 1/60

I had to use my crappy kit zoom kit lens because I didn't have enough room to use my beloved 50mm, so my ISO was higher then I normally like and so the noise was awful! But I think I pulled it off, I really hope this client likes her gallery of images - I really couldn't use the images in color because the grain was soo bad but they like b&w so I hope they don't mind that the majority of them are in b&w. I had fun getting to know this family - they have 5 kids and soon to be expecting their 6th! How much fun is that?! This was one of my favorite images from the session. Enjoy & CC is always welcomed.

Today's Wedding

No, I don't have images edited yet. But I tweaked this a bit and sharpened for web so I could share with you guys. This was taken in the front seat of a Corvette (1970) with the Fisheye lens on D200 sitting on the dashboard. Pretty cool, eh?

The Valentine's Picts

I finally got some of our Valentine's Pic's done. Isn't if funny that you put your family pictures last. Here is one.

spring has sprung

Ok this was from the beginning of my session today. She was a sweetie and willing to try anything! Still working on the pp for this look. Don't have it yet...but I don't have a recipe to follow either. More to come, I'm sure :)

Funny Business

A friend's hubby needed a business portrait for his company newsletter. So, after taking the serious stuff, we did a couple more goofy pics. Still playing with my version of studio lights (ha, in the kitchen, hardly studio). Anyway, this was shot with my flash in a shoot through umbrella and window light for fill. So far, the ratio for this is my fave studio attempt so far. Any tips???

fairy volleyball players

Happy V Day everyone. I had a date with my computer. Kyle is at volleyball practice.... :) I was able to work that picture. So I'm showing you the before and after. Before they were standing on a box. I'm kinda proud it took quite awhile...

Happy Valentines Day

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day. Sorry I haven't had time to edit my pictures for V-day yet, hopefully tomorrow or Saturday.

yuck!

I'm going to close this blog to only those that we give permission to. So let me know if you have anyone, like Meg, your husband, so that I can add them to make comments. Let's just stop any spamming all together....

Watch Out

I went to one of the blogs of those people that keep putting comments on our blog and they tried to download a virus. We have Norton and it stopped it before it could do any damage. I would suggest that we not go to their sites anymore and make sure you do a full system scan in case they were able to download one on your computer.

butterfly lighting

ok here was my first try at butterfly lighting. I didn't do it right but I liked the outcome anyway. I got ORANGE paper today. Fun huh?

We Love Boxing!!!!!

My husband and I are huge boxing fans and I found these little boxing gloves for him for Christmas. I'm going to try and get Meme into boxing LOL! The first pug boxer haha!

Lightning McQueen

Here's my challenge submission. I know I was only suppose to have 5 "views", but rules are meant to be broken, right? Sawyer and I had so much fun posing Lightning, that we will be having a shoot with Mater too! These were taken with a variety of lenses, 50mm, 28 mm, 70-210, 18-200, and 100-300.

Cindy

Warning

Hey Gals! I just got another comment from an unknown on my photo. It was spam and I deleted it, permanently. It was another one that wanted you to click here and sent you to some site selling garbage. I would suggest that anytime we see a comment from an anonymous or unknown person, especially one directing you to click here, ignore it ...and if it is your posting, delete it. Also, on the one that commented on Ruth's photo, I went to his blog (by clicking on the username) and flagged it. I think if enuf people do that, blogspot will look into it.

Bye now....must go take photos!!!

~Meg

ps. I just checked on the loser who posted on Ruth's photo (Kele) and his blog has already been shut down....yea!!!!

NEW THEME - Feb 10, 2008

This week's theme: ONE object shot from 5 angles/distances.

Let's work on our perspectives.

Cindy

my botanical

I feel so bad I'm not doing the challenge like I should but "carry on" and someday I can. I've been really really really busy. I'm not done with my senior but here is a shot using Arya's BW action. She talked me through it on the phone. Don't you just love it?

Meet Princess Meme

I have been busy the last little while finding our lil baby boy pug Raskal (who we adopted the end of December) a sister! We found this lil beauty and adopted her last night. She is awesome, sweet and loving! Now our animal family is DONE hehe :) Here are a few you can find more on my blog :)Settings: f4, ss 125, iso 800 no flash

Botanical Challenge

I wasn't sure if I would ever get a chance to do this weeks challenge. The flu has invaded our house, first with my youngest and now both my dh and I have it. Luckily the other kids have been spared so far. It is pretty sad that I had to go out and buy my own flowers just for the challenge, I asked dh to bring some home from work earlier this week and he forgot.
