the best I can do with sports!

This is the senior I'm working on next. Notice the stop action in the ball!!!! LOL that is as close as I can get to movement. :) Going to bed NOW!

Senior

This young man worships with us. His mom is a beautician. So, I traded haircuts and getting my hair chemically straightened for shooting some pictures of him. He had already had studio portraits done at school and they bought some of those, so I took him to the park and did some there. This one is simply desaturated to the point that you can barely see the blue in his jeans.
I STINK at posing!!! I hope his mom doesn't see the pics and notice they are all the same poses in different locations! I did vary the angles, positions, and distances - but that is about it.

I'm sorry!!!

I am sorry I haven't posted in well......hmm.......long time sorry MA! I have been suffering with miagranes for last lil bit, its been horrible! Anyways I'm sorry and I will try and post again soon. What is this weeks theme? Ruth I think it would be a GREAT idea to have a list on the right side here ------------------> yap over there on the right lol that will give us the LIST of themes. I can do it if you need me to, would help me a lot haha.

Anyways I dunno what the theme is and I didn't have any sessions this week, was in bed, at hospital and in pain so here is one I took of the only thing laying around half way interesting lol

MISS DOLLY

Finally a TUTU

Four months later, the tutu finally arrives. My friend has a daughter that was willing and ready to be my model with the new pettiskirt. Isn't she a beautiful girl!!! I did a soft focus on this one, do you think it is too soft?

more vollyball...

...I think this may be even harder than shooting football. It's only my 2nd time ever with volleyball and these girls sure move fast! Guess I will have to attend a few more games to get the hang of it :)

Very cute couple that I photographed yesterday. We wondered around downtown portland to get their different pictures done. It was sooo beautiful yesterday and all I could think of was how I wished it was more of a cloudy/overcast day because the sun was in full swing. lol

my last yearbook senior!

Kinda of sad because I had such a blast and they were all so pretty! But here she is. I used my 50mm and put it on 1.8 so that only her right eye is truly in focus. We got some great shots!

I wanted to show at least one football photo with less noise. This was taken from a closer position and it definitely cuts down on the grain. Now if I can just figure out a way to stand in the middle of the field I'd have it made!

Okay, I'm slowly chipping away at getting Kacey's senior images done. The girl wants them taken EVERYWHERE. Anyway, this was done with garage light - hey, everyone else is doing it....bridge, jump...
Yes, this is her true personality. Never met such a priss. Don't ask me where it came from because I am so NOT prissy.

Elements 6-BW

I was able to shoot a highschool football game today. They let me walk the sidelines and get some great shots. This one I used the function in Elements 6 "convert to BW" and added just a bit more contrast. I'm thinking I'm going to like this conversion. I did purchase Nichole Van's Essential BW, but I'm having a time getting it to work. I'm going to have to see if I can find the PDF instructions! (can you imagine - reading instructions?)

what day is it???

ok for my senior today. We did a full session but I'm just booking to get her yearbook pictures done. I'll do the rest later. Here is one of her choices.

Pumpkin head

ok here is my baby boy doing a peakaboo with a pumpkin hat on. I also wanted to add that I have started up a new blog if any one wants to check it out. http://www.reflectionsblog.blogsome.com/

I tried really hard to get this wedding proofed tonight but I didn't finish. Here is another one.

This was taken today - his mom needed to have the pictures done so he could take a picture in for his year book - talk about cutting it close...lol I got some really nice images and started using my flash outdoors as well as indoors because it's getting darker as the cloudy skies come in.

My Attempt...

...at making a photo look old. I used the Aly's vintage old canvas action and then upped the contrast and desaturated it a bit more. I'm including the original shot to show the difference.

Little Nic

I babysat today for a friend. This is her youngest son. I took him and his brother to the park and tried to get some shots - but boys are WILD. This is the ONLY calm moment I got. The sun was too harsh for the shots on the playground and any time I tried to get a "near pose" HA, give up on that idea! Anyway, his mom loved this one.
