Senior Girl

Kacey (my oldest) finally got her braces off and we were able to do her drape photo for the yearbook. Anything I should change before submitting? This was taking in my garage with natural light and a bit of fill flash - white reflect below her.

Look what I found...

...in my back yard. It's an animal, right? (it's certainly BIG enuf to qualify!)

ISO 400, ss125, f5

My newborn from the other night.
He was such a cutie.

My Grandmother's Hands

I took my camera with me today when I went to visit my grandmother. I've been wanting to take this picture for a long time, but she's a tough one to get to agree. Fortunately, today she was in a good mood. I think that seeing the photo actually made me "see" the years in her hands more than I had before. I'm sorry I didn't make a note of the settings.

I'm finished...

...with the football program...YEA!
Now I must go clean house, so here's an old one.

ps. this is my neice Maggie, isn't she adorable?

first try at gels

I bought a bag of gels at a garage sale. So I played a little this morning. Hair light 8.0 main 8.0 fill 5.6. And the back light I just did several shots to see what would happen at different lights. These are turned all the way up so they are super saturated. Wow all of these on the same background. This may be my NEW addiction!!! LOL and will save space in my studio too.

My Hubby!!!! LOL

WARNING>>>>>

It is Mr. Cool himself!
hehe
Took some shots for his
birthday invite.

Pigs former home

This is where the bulb came from. This is sooc. Can anyone else see the "rainbow" in the sky? Or is it just me? It's a perfect clear day, no clouds anywhere. Don't know what that effect is from.

Settings ISO 200, 1/750, f/5.6 Kit lens on my 10d, so I couldn't get any closer.

Pet pig.....?

Okay, there's a story here. My dh works for a company that does work at the college I'm attending. So he was there today changing 1000 watt (yes 1000 watt ) bulbs in the parking lot. They take the blown bulbs down and draw faces on them. (oh, did I mention they were working. lol) They said they look like pigs? Anyway. This is sooc. Dragged the shutter to get it exposed correctly. It was such a bright day and the bulb being white, the camera meter wanted to underexpose the bulb. And what I like is the apeture was at 5.6, I focused on the eyes and the nose is oof, but the mouth and eyes are in focus. That's the apeture at work for you! settings. ISO 200, SS 1/500 f/5.6.

No butts about it...

My latest Senior

Sorry I haven't been doing pets, but I've been doing sessions...which I think we can agree is more productive. :) Here is my last session. I have a question. Which do you like better? One has a Kubota action to make the face paler. f10 ss80 (don't ask me howI did this) iso 100

Will work for food

I hope there aren't any cat labor laws! If you saw the picture of the kittens in the teacup, this is two of them.I've been learning to use my speedlight as a "natural" light look. These were taken in a pretty dark, unfinished basement. The slow ss picked up my office light which was the brightest light down there!
settings ISO 400 ss1/30 f/5.6 flash boucned to the left and I think a +1 compensation. This is sooc.

How many cats...

...does it take before you finally run out of names for them? This little sweetie is Thing 1 (and his sister is Thing 2)... I do believe we may have reached critical mass here.

ISO 500, ss60, f4 with flash

ps. my son said that he wanted to give Thing 1 a 'real' name, so he has decided to call him Couch....yeah, that's much better :)
