
okay, this is food, right? Any idea how to feed hummingbirds without getting a swarm of honeybees? They seem to be multiplying. Now the birds have to wait for the bees to leave so they can eat! I've never had this happen before.

that is absolutly scary!! How about a bee catcher thingy away from the hummingbird feeder.
I've never seen that happen either, but we have a shortage of bees here and I'm always complaining about it!
I never have that problem, I have lots of ants on mine however!
Not scary really, Honeybees are very calm bees, not aggressive at all. Here's what I read online and did today: paint the flowers red (with nail polish) and move the feeders about 3 feet away. The bees are attraced to the yellow of the flower opening.
So far, so good. We'll see if it lasts. Next step is to get screens so the bees can't get to the nectar.
