Senior Session

Finished a Senior session with my cousin. This is one of my favorite shots. I will post more as I get them. I got a new lens and used it, I learned that is is really soft at 2.8, but gets better at 3.5, this is F3.5, SS 200, with a Tamron 28-105. One of these days I will get a big boy Nikon, but have to work with this for now.

It is so stinking hot here and we don't have air conditioning. All I want is SOME kind of breeze to come through this dang window!!! This is another shot from my trash the dress session.

Family Session

This is from my family session today and with only a small patch of shade it was interesting and I still got some hot spots in the hair...

Baby Samara

Just did a session with a 9 week old. She had a hard time of it!

Baby Bits

I stopped at a friend's house the other day and spent about 10 mins taking pictures of her new baby. I did this "bits" collage for her. I'm thinking a macro lens would work better for these shots. Do you guys use a macro for the really close-ups of newborns?

a senior from SLC

Here is one of the Seniors that I shot while in Salt Lake. I have so many images to go through... geesshhh!!! Good to be home though.

Go Dogs!

Sorry, I just had to post two today. Our son Brad (in the blue t-shirt) just got an apartment in Fresno because he will be attending FSU next year and we watched the College World Series game yesterday at our local pizza parlor (hint: Fresno won :)

Tender Moment

This was a shock to me as I pulled this off my camera - I actually did catch the rare moment of my boys being nice to eachother. taken at the park in my mom's new apartment complex.

ISO: 100 SS: 1/100 AP: f/3.2

It is I..........the non-poster

as Ruth would say. :)
I wanted to share some of my macro pics from
my new Canon 100mm lens.
It is alot harder than you would think. It was kinda
windy so that did not help any.

Brides and grunge

I know that it has been a while, so I think here is some good stuff!!!

Over There

This is an image of my middle son, Sam. He was looking at the boys playing ball and was contemplating joining them. My mom's new apartment complex has a nice play area - the kids loved it and so did we while we tried to help my mom move in!

Still working on house 'projects' but I did find this one from graduation that I liked.

New mini session set-up

I am doing my practice sessions today and tomorrow for my Down By the Bay mini sessions. This is the first session today, who was an absolute doll. I met her at a wedding I did a few weeks ago, where she was the flower girl. So I called her mom up and asked if she would like to be a model for me. I was so excited when she said yes! We did 3 different outfits, 5-6 different pose/prop ideas, in about 30 minutes. I will be using the practice images on my blog and website for advertisement. This one I ran a high pass filter, I will also be offering storybook look and antiqued. I'll share more as I get them done.

trash the dress

Tina, Katie and I took two really wonderful ladies out to a fantastic shooting site near the Great Salt Lake last night. Here are two images from the beginning of the session. I have a ton more to go through but my laptop just isn't worthy of my post processing prowess... LOL Meet Jayme and Brianna.

WOW

I'm in Utah and I have learned so much my head is going to explode.
The weather is hot (which is a nice change from rain) Salt Lake City is amazing to photograph in and I've had three seniors to shoot. Tonight Tina, Katie and I are doing a trash the dress session at the Great Salt Lake. I have tons of images to show you but I will spare you! LOL Here is a senior done on a newly released Silverlake backdrop, never seen before. It is called For Girls Only. I would really love it but it will have to wait. :( Oh and this is SOOC because my proofing ability sucks on my laptop so I just don't do it. Besides I don't even think my monitor is calibrated. So be kind! LOL

Just visiting

Ok, not the greatest pic, but we are still working on the rest of the walkway (and that dang plastering!) so this is all I had time for. Kitty decided to visit with us while we are finishing up the cement job....my next pic will probably be of a footprint (kitty size:).

Happy Birthday Aaron

Today is Aaron's birthday - He's 7 today. I can't believe my little baby is growing up!

Peek-a-boo

Here is a picture of my three little monsters. how do you like Aaron's new hair cut? He loves it and just struts around like a proud peacock for sure. I can't believe he's going to be 7 tomorrow. They do grow so fast. Ruth is peeking behind Sam. They didn't really cooperate much during this mini session with them out of 15 images (including a few full family shots) only a handful were usable. I wish they would cooperate like my clients do - then again my clients don't see me everyday with a camera glued to my face either chasing them around trying to get some good pictures for our walls...lol

This is a quick picture I took of my hubby and I - he would only sit for about 3 pictures his face was actually taken from another image because he wasn't smiling...lol can you tell?

Our latest Project

Ok, so it's not a sweet shot like Aryas....or anybody elses....this is what we have been working on for the past few weeks (this and plastering our sons room). It's a walkway out to the slab that our pool sits on in the summer...or it's the runway for our son's to speed down before launching themslves into the pool. We got tired of sifting grass out of the water :)

ps.... we like to 'dress up' our paths too, here's one of the fishes embedded in the concrete.

In the Distance

This was taken a few days ago at a different park we used to frequent because it was close to hubby's work but that was some time ago. We happened to be in the area and decided to have lunch there and play a bit to get out some much needed energy and I love how this image turned out of my Ruth swinging with her daddy in the background.

Silhouette of my boys!

I have been wanting to get some silhouette images of my kids to hang in our house, we have lived here for almost 3 years and I only have 3 pictures on the wall, it's like the cobbler whose kids had no shoes! So yesterday I got my husband to try one of the images that I would like to have, but my son really doesn't like to be thrown up in the air, so he never leaves daddy's hands or let's go of the death grip on his arms! I think we will have to try this one again with out so much distractions behind them.

To all you Dad's out there! We took a little hike today to this waterfall. I was scoping it out for my trash the dress session in August.

Happy Father's Day!

Wedding Slideshow

Ladies, Sorry I haven't been participating much lately. I've been swamped with weddings and other work that has trickled in. I've uploaded a slideshow onto youtube of one wedding, if you'd like to see it http://youtube.com/watch?v=XbsLsnBfSl8

I'm going to camp this week and again in two weeks with my girls, so I'll be out of the loop for a while. I'm planning to drive the 20 minutes to get to town one day and check email and such. I'll try and check in here as well.

You are all on my mind and in my prayers!

frame for you

Enjoy! Here is the frame that was on the last few images. I hope you all enjoy it!

Would you mind criticing my site?

I know you all are probably very busy, but I am in the need of a good critic of my main site. I am getting ready to overhaul the whole thing and would love to hear which images are keepers and which are not strong enough. I applied for ILP FA and was turned down. These were their comments "appeared that some of her images were good & solid, while others had the high volume look to them...", "...some babies looked uncomfortable... not enough strong images within the portfolio...", "...needs to weed the galleries down to her best...","...has some nice images, but she has some that seem "off"...Especially the baby gallery. A lot of the babies look uncomfortable or awkward..." . I am still a little bitter over the rejection but I guess that is how I will grow, just wish I didn't know what some of the current FA member's websites looked like, it's seems hit and miss with the approval on ILP.
If you have a free minute or two please take a look www.crumrinephotography.com, I really appreciate it!
I'll try to post a couple images in the next few days.

for Meg!!!!

Meg..is this better? I've finished Devon... if you want to see them all you'll need to ask and I'll give you the info. Really cool pictures! :)

The beautiful (and incredibly sweet) daughter of one of my very best friends graduated last week ...yea! We share the same birthday...couple of years apart :) Since this was the best pic I got all night, I was sure glad it was of a friend!
I forgot to change the focus setting to AL servo and since the school was trying to set the land speed record for graduation ceremonies, I got a lot of soft focus....darn!

Fighter pose

ISO: 100 SS: 1/250 AP: f/3.2

Another from the park yesterday. Aaron was showing me his fighter pose and I wanted to try out different perspectives. I love my 17-50 mm lens! Most of the images from yesterday were taken at the 17mm length.

My first Bridal Session

I think it went quite well. We had a lot of fun at Memorial Park in Downtown SLC. What do you think?

Perspective

I have been trying to figure out all my buttons on my camera and found the focus dial to make sure your focus is tack sharp and focusing right. So I decided to practice on my kids and they actually cooperated! Please ignore my messy livingroom - it was clean and then the kids tornado'ed thru before I started clicking the shutter button.
